Welcome To Sajjanpur is a 2008 Indian Bollywood comedy, costume drama, drama, social film released on Sep 19, 2008. The film is directed by Shyam Benegal, produced by Ronnie Screwvala under banner named Utv Motion Pictures, music composed by Shantanu Moitra.
The town Sajjanpur shortfalls adequate construction, no safe drinking water is regulated in a 24 hour period, electricity is out for almost 23 hours which is also not included, and even though they have their mobile phones they cannot speak or write in English. The movie also shows that one of the villager, who does speak and write English calmly, Meade Kushwah, lives with his mother, and both owns a small fresh vegetable store after his dad discarded them when he was very young. He has since received a degree from Satna University, and helps the residents with written analogy for a fee. Amongst his clients are Man Singh - who wants his violent wife to stand for the Municipal elections; a lady known as Munnibai Mukhrani, who stands for elections; a snake orator who is trying to earn his earning with fake snakes and is trying to figure his father; Ram Kumar, who is in love with a widow, Shobha; angry Ramsakhi Pannawali, who desperately wants to marry off her alienated daughter, Vindhya has to marry to a Saturday-born dog; while Mahadev uses his tactics to break Kamla's marriage with Bansiram.
