Tehzeeb is a 2003 Indian Bollywood drama,family film released on Dec 05, 2003. The film is directed by Khalid Mohamed, produced by Paresh Rawal , music composed by A. R. Rahman.

Rukhsana Jamal (Shabana Azmi) is a successful singer, who has a tidy personal life. Her husband Anwar Jamal (Rishi Kapoor) was mentally unstable and even goes through depression before committing suicide. Years later, Tehzeeb (Urmila Matondkar) and Najneen (Diya Mirza), both of Rukhsana's daughters have grown up in absence of their mother's guidance. While Nazneen is mentally retarded, Tehzeeb is a stubborn and imprudent lady. Tehzeeb marries a novel writer Salim Mirza (Arjun Rampal) much against her mother's wishes who wanted her to have a more wealthy and successful husband. Both Tehzeeb and Rukhsana have ego-clashes at times, and have fights over silly things.This increases the differences between them. After her marriage, Tehzeeb rescues Nazneen out of the mental asylum where their mother had admitted her. 5 years later, Rukhsana decides to visit her daughter and son-in-law. Even then, Tehzeeb behaves indifferently to her mother as she has always suspected her to her father's murderer.This results in frequent fights between them. One day, Nazneen finds a revolver in her house, and shoots herself. On the other hand, Tehzeeb's hubby Salim is rumoured to have an affair with Sheena Roy (Diana Hayden). Will Tehzeeb be able to clear all the differences with her mother?
