Dharamraj wishes to look after the welfare of his family while his brother Satyajit wants the welfare of the society. Satyajit in company with others looted Zamindars property when he was shot dead. His wife Sarda gives birth to a son named Tilak. Dharamrajs son is Rajeswar who loves Bharathi, a poor school mistress whose brothers go abegging. A bully named Dhaniraj has Rani for a daughter who loves Tilak. Tilaks colleagues conspire tosend Tilak to jail.
