Manchali is a 1962 Indian Bollywood social film released on 1962. The film is directed by R. C. Talwar, music composed by Jamal Sen.

Leena (Leena Chandavarker) is a strong willed and stubborn girl who has been brought up by her parent's close friends (Krishnakant & Nirupa Roy). She refuses to marry the boy of their choice and when being forced, runs away from the house. While trying to hide from them, she bumps into Sushil Kumar (Sanjeev Kumar) a happy go lucky tramp. She doesnt really bond with him but soon she makes a plan of marrying him temporarily so that she can avoid marrying the choice of her guardians. She comes back home with Sushil and proclaims that she has married him. Soon, Sushil makes his way into everyone's heart by his transparent nature and carefree attitude. After initial differnces Leena too starts liking Sushil, forgetting that her marriage to Sushil is a farce. Will Leena be able to express her true feeling to Sushil? Will they live happily ever after?


One small erroe and a mans life can some times turn into something worse than death. For the Maharaja of Rajgarh, it was, parhaps, something ordinary to reject his Chief Ministers proposal to unite his daugher and the prince in wedlock. With the help of his heachman, Randhir, he succeeded in putting the King inot proson and assured by his soldires that the prince had also been killed, he installed himself on the Throne. . When Virsingh the Kings trusted lieutenant, left his home, wife and infant child, Rahia, determined not to return until he had traced his master and the prince and entered the palace in search of them, he was also taken prisoner and put in the same cell as the King The prince who was not dead began to receive his up bringing in the house of a snake-charmer. . Fifteen years passed. Virsigh died in the priosn. The king himself hid in the coffin and by this strategem regained his freedom. In the garb of a commoner, he ran ito Virshinghs orphaned daughter Radhia who had turned into a street singer and they began to live together. Allowed inside the palace because of her singing and dancing prowess, Radhia succeeded in purloining the late Maharanis necklace which the usurper king had presented to his only daughter on her birthday. The loss of the necklace was duly publicised and the reward annuned for its revoe- ery. The prince named Kanahayya by his God parents was able to recover it from Radhias possession. The neckleace had a precarious career now here, now ther. Kanahayya was incarcerated but using the Royal Seal, Radhia was able to get him out.
