Main Aur Mera Hathi is a 1981 Indian Bollywood social film released on Dec 18, 1981. Main Aur Mera Hathi is a story of two brothers Ram and Lakshman; They are like Ram and Lakshman in Ramayana. They are inseparable, inspite, they are different by birth, as Lakshman is an elephant. . Ram and Lakshman are motherless; So Rams father brings up the boy and the Lakshman alike, affectionately. They are grown like brothers. These two are the two eyes for the father. . Father proposes marriage to Ram. So Ram and Lakshman search for a suitable girl. Meena is the girl certified by Lakshman. The match is settled but broke suddenly with the intervention of Lakshman. The mother of Meena dislikes her daughters marriage as there is an elephant in the family of Ram. . Ram dislikes the alliance so he leaves the house of the girl. . When things are so, Rams father, the police officer gets killed by the notorious gangster because of the upright nature and duty conciousness of the father. This is witnessed by the Lakshman. . The two twin sons of Lala Jagatnarayan, the High Court Judge, namely Ramesh and Rajesh resemble so much in facial description that even their parents used to commit mistakes for one another. . Rajesh remains unhanged even after his release and there is combat between the two brthers. The mother tries to intervene but unluckly she falls from the ladder and loses her eye sight. Rajesh while doing his mis-deeds to make to kill one seth of Delhi who also dealt in the smuggling business. But the unfortuante part of theme is that Ramesh who happened to be in the same hotel at that time, was mistook for Rajesh and arrested. Now Rajesh returns to his house and declares himsef as Ramesh. Ramesh was approaching his end of life in that murder prosecution, and his mother was pining away her last days without her eyes. . Asha was fully entangled in the plot of Rajesh.
