Maa Ke Aansu is a 1982 Indian Bollywood film released on 1982. It is all about a mother beneath whose feet lies the Garden of Heaven. But cruel life fills her eyes with tears of burning flames. It is the story of the mother who lets all her comforts and happiness be snatch- ed away and accepts the woes and suferings of this harsh world. All for her childs sake. She willingly drinks the cup of poison so that her child can have the Elixer of life. The story of Maa Ke Aansu is such a tragic and heart-rending tale of a mother. . After completing his sentence when the devil-may-care drunkard Samad comes out of prison he finds the whole world changed. Instead of taking him towards his home his feet lead him to bring an end to his own life. But he happens to save a life and the whirl-wind of circumstances throw him once again at his own village, Aminabad. He escapes death but the happiness of life escapes him. His wife is no mor e alive and his daughter is married and gone. He comes to have a look at his daughter from afar but finds that somehow no child of his daughter Najma survives for long. Death overtakes their lives in their early infanthood. A miracle he had heard on the way flashes through his mind. To dispel the clouds of darkness he accepts the job of reciting the Holy Korna at his son-in-laws house. During his stay he wins over the faith of his daughter in the efficacy of the miracle. Mothers heart cries out for the life of her child and stretches her hand to that saint for help. But this Mannat raises a storm in her life. Advised by Samad she goes to the Durgah against the wish of her husband who has no faith in such things. This infuriates her husband so much that not only she cannot fulfil her Mannat but she has to leave her home, husband and her child. She and Samad take shelter in the Durgah but misfortune follows her there too. When her husband Ajnum is forced to re-marry her runs away from his house. But cruelty of fate is still harsher towards Najma. Ajnum finds his old school frined, Shahnoor. Their old forgotten love is once again inflamed and Anjum who has run away from his house at the mention of remarriage falls head-long in the same mire of remarriage. The wonder of wonders is that his beloved Shahnoor who is a singer-dancer accepts his motherless child even before getting married to him. Najmas heart is filled once again with burning tears.
