Kato Dur 1945

Kato Dur is a 1945 Indian Bengali drama film released on Feb 02, 1945. The film is directed by Chnitu Bose, produced by S. D. Productions under banner named S. Das Productions.

Bikash could not find her wife Sulata reaching home at twelve in the night after returning from his usual cord game. The next morning Bikash went to his father-in-law's house, Sulata was not there also. It was known that Sulata spent the night there, but left at early morning. Sulata was working as a secretary to the political leader Satya Kinkar babu. Sulata's elder brother Sumit knew Satya Kinkar and his daughter Mili. Sujit bought Sulata concealing her actual identity. Not finding her wife Bikash published a advertisement in a newspaper in 'wanted bride' coloumn. Seeing that advertisement Sulata came back to Bikash's place. She found there lots of Bikash's friend and a match-maker with a would-be bride. So Sulata left the house again. After a few days through a small source, Bikash came to Satya Kinkar's house. Seeing him Sulata became tensed. But seeing Bikash Satya Kinkar's nephew became pleased. After Sulata's entry in that house Sajani's visit became more frequent. But not getting any response from the other side he became frustrated. At that time, Bikash gave him inspiration. One day when Sulata'a life became extremely miserable on one side by trying to ignore Bkash and on the other side by resisting Sajani's attempt to impress her. Satya Kinkar announced the marriage of Bikash and Mili. Sujit went to Mili. He exposed the identity of Sulata and Bikash and requested her to stop the marriage any how. Otherwise Sulata would commit suicide. Incidentally the same night when Sujit was going to Sulata's room he dropped intentionally a bottle on the stairs. Bikash eventually found that bottle and found that over it, it was written 'poison'. Bikash could not sit idle after seeing that, he rushed to Sulata's room.
