Jagan is a 2013 Indian Telugu thriller, action film released on Mar 15, 2013. The film is directed by Venkanna Babu, produced by Sakamuri Mallikarjuna Rao. Jagan (Shiva) is jailed but escapes from prison. He gives the slip to the police who chase him but when he does end up in their custody once again, the police are more than happy to release him.Jagan is a `nirdoshi', so we are told, but one cannot miss the effort of the filmmaker to subtly put in the minds of the audience that Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, son of former chief minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy, now is prison, is innocent. The film is not about Jaganmohan Reddy. It has got its own storyline but towards the end, the main character Jagan imitates Jaganmohan Reddy in the way he waves his hand and greets with his characteristic `namasthe'.Newcomer Shiva who plays Jagan has a towering presence on the screen with his height. He can also metamorphose into a better actor if he can work on his skills. Sanjana is what Sanjana is always on the screen. She adds the glamour quotient but in this film she actually shows that she can act! M S Narayana who plays a constable is back to his old ways, drinking forever on the screen. And what he tells a new recruit that there is only one way one can get a promotion: catch the feet of an officer's wife, carry the bags when she goes out for shopping and take her dog out for a walk
