A genuinely iconoclastic American filmmaker, Steven Soderbergh has demonstrated his command over the medium with both his Hollywood hits (the three Ocean's capers) and indie gems (The Girlfriend Experience). A splashy, smart spy thriller, Haywire may not set out to reinvent the genre, but it constantly yields something unexpected. The premise of the plot is a simple one. A kick-butt gun-for-hire (Carano) is double-crossed during a botched hostage-rescue mission

Director Steven Soderbergh takes his years of experience in mainstream cinema and his undying love for small budget indies and combines both to dole out his 25th film Haywire, a searing, handcrafted action thriller that is a work of bombastic, visceral power. Even with its huge star cast of Ewan McGregor, Channing Tatum, Michael Fassbender, Michael Douglas and Antonio Banderas

In her first movie outing, Carano plays Mallory Kane, a highly skilled assassin who goes on the run when she realizes she's been double-crossed by her boss

There aren't many dialogues, but there are many locations: Dublin, Upstate New York, New Mexico, Barcelona.... There aren't many twists and turns, but there are some of Hollywood's bigwigs to watch out for: Michael Fassbender, Ewan McGregor, Channing Tatum.... Now, that's the first place where you might be in for a little disappointment. How else do you explain the likes of Michael Douglas and his brief cameo, along with Antonio Banderas and a five second stint!
