Raj Goyal (played by Akshaye Khanna) is a famous and successful attorney. At a musical party he is being introduced to Sargam (played by Urmila Matondkar) by Ashwin Mehta (played by Vijayendra Ghatge). The next day Ashwin is killed. Sargam contacted Raj to defend the implicate, Tarang Bhardwaj (played by Ajay Devgan). Raj then accepts, and with the help of a psychiatrist is able to say that Tarang is guilty. Raj's mother is portrayed by Farida Jalal, and Tiku Talsania portrays his uncle Ratan.
