Kismat Konnection 2008

Kismat Konnection is a 2008 Indian Bollywood romance, musical film released on Jul 18, 2008. The film is directed by Aziz Mirza, produced by Kumar S. Taurani.

The hero of the film, Raj Malhotra (Shahid Kapur) is shown to be an all rounder in college, excelling not only in academics but also drama, sports and other fields. He wins the best student of the year trophy in college, and is expected to have a brilliant future in architecture by all. However, fours years later, he still finds himself struggling to gain success in Canada. He is followed by a spate of bad luck, which ruins his chances whenever he is on the verge of getting a breakthrough. His alarm does not ring on time, his shower stops midway, his car refuse to start, just when he's in a rush to reach a critical meeting on time. It seems like Murphy's Law at work or 'Bad Kismat'. In desperation, he meets an oracle, an eerie lady called Hasina Bano Jaan (Juhi Chawla). She tells him that his luck will soon change and everything will work in his favour, however, he will need to find his lucky charm first and never let go of it. That is all she says and leaves Raj puzzled about where he is going to find his lucky charm. However, soon after, his life does seem to change and he impresses a top builder Sanjeev Gill (Om Puri), into giving him a prestigious project. Priya (Vidya Balan) is a tough, decision making girl who is soft at heart. She is also an idealist who wants to make the world a better place and is quite willing to fight for it, hence she is involved in a lot of causes. Raj succeeds in persuading her that he's the Messiah who can save her beloved Community Center from destruction. He also opens her eyes to her philandering fiancé (Amit Verma)., and puts a stop to the plans of the old-college-foe-turned-deadly-professional- enemy Dave Kataria (Manoj Bohra). Does Raj discover his lucky charm? Where will it lead Raj - to love or professional success?

Raj Malhotra [Shahid Kapur], a promising architect trying to establish his firm along with his friend Hiten [Vishal Malhotra]. But luck and Raj’s dream play hide and seek with each other. Whatever he does he does not succeed. One day in his blue’s time Raj comes in contact with a fortune teller Haseena Bano Jaan [Juhi Chawla], she foresees Raj future and suggests him to look for something which is lucky for Raj. Mean while Raj meets Priya [Vidya Balan] in an accident which turns out to be a fight. Both cannot stand each other. But whenever Raj meets Priya his luck changes. Raj realises this and understand that Priya is his lucky charm. Raj wants to get a big project of making a mall from Mr.Gill [Om Puri]. He decided to try for the project along with his lucky charm. In this process he falls in love with Priya, who is opposing the mall and also planning to leave the country with her fiancé. This adds more complications to Raj’s complicated life. Will Raj achieve his dreams and lover?

This is a story about an architect Raj Malhotra. While he was a top student in his school and college days, he is not having much luck finding work, clients or projects. All he does seems to go wrong. Raj goes to a gypsy named Haseena Bano Jann who advises him that his luck is not good and he needs a lucky charm or a person who can change his life. Afterwards, he meets Priya who is ready to help others by trying to save a community center. Although they do not get along at first, Raj eventually realizes that she is his lucky charm. Priya ends up helping Raj through sticky situations and Raj eventually figures out that she is, in fact, changing his life. Knowing that, Raj lies to Priya by telling her that he will help her save the community center, but instead he is trying to build a shopping mall there so he can finally be recognised as an architect. Later Priya finds out the truth and is really upset. To make up for his lie, Raj has to either change his plan to be with his love or keep his job to lose her ? What will he choose to do ?
